A seemingly innocent Facebook photo post is attracting an awful lot of attention in the tech community this week, given the Silicon Valley star power in attendance for the dinner event it came from.
Business Insider is reporting that Apple's design guru Jonathan "Jony" Ive was among the 12 tech superstars in attendance for a dinner event hosted by Nirav Tolia, a Silicon Valley entrepreneur currently in charge of social network Nextdoor.
According to a photo posted to the Facebook account of Google X director Mike Cassidy, a dozen tech executives wined and dined together at the event, including the CEOs of Twitter, Yelp, Path and Dropbox.
The event also included former Google executive Marissa Mayer, now CEO of Yahoo, who certainly ranks as one of the most well-connected bosses in Silicon Valley.
"He was at a dinner with a bunch of execs last night. Nothing more to report," a Yelp spokesperson said, confirming CEO Jeremy Stoppelman's own attendance at the dinner party.
The article neatly connects the dots between the companies, noting of Ive in particular: "After executive Scott Forstall's departure, Ive gained oversight over Apple's software design as well as its hardware products. As such, he's a critical contact for pretty much everyone in the room."
