Google+ for iOS Now Available in 48 More Countries

Google+ app iconThe bad thing about any up and coming social network is that it's usually reserved for those of us living in the United States at first, leaving an awful lot of folks out of the party -- but t hat's no longer the case with Google+.

Google+ Mobile boss Frank Petterson announced that the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad app for the search giant's growing social network is now available in 48 new countries and territories around the world.

The news came via Google+ itself (where else?) on Thursday, and will be quite welcome to international iOS users eager to make their social connections mobile.

The new countries include: Albania, Anguilla, Barbados, Benin, Bermuda, Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cape Verde, Cayman Islands, Chad, Republic of Congo, Dominica, Fiji, Gambia, Grenada, Guinea-Bissau, Guyana, Kyrgyzstan, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Liberia, Macau, Malawi, Mauritania, Federated States of Micronesia, Mongolia, Montserrat, Mozambique, Namibia, Nepal, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Saint Lucia, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent and The Grenadines, Suriname, Swaziland, São Tomé and Príncipe, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turks and Caicos, Ukraine, British Virgin Islands and Zimbabwe. Whew!

Google+ continues to trail Facebook in users (not to mention overall usage), but the company doesn't appear to be letting off the gas pedal in its efforts to turn that situation around.
