Lumify Movie Studio Hits 3.0, Brings Full-Featured Video Editing to iPhone

Lumify Movie Studio 3.0Video editing apps are a dime a dozen on the App Store these days, but how many of them actually make it easy and fun to do? The folks behind Lumify Movie Studio are one of the few, and for a limited time it's also free.

Shnap has announced the debut of Lumify Movie Studio 3.0, the latest and greatest version of their iPhone video editing app which promises to be the biggest one yet. Best of all, Lumify is absolutely free for a limited time, so fledgling moviemakers will want to snap this one up quickly.

Among the features included with version 3.0 are one-tap focus lock, exposure and white balance while recording video within the app and the ability to specify how long you'd like a scene to be in advance (short, normal, long) as well as trimming it manually or just using it as-is.

The app now includes five new video filters for a total of 15, and can even slow down or speed up playback of each scene independently in full 1080p HD. A multitrack mixer makes it easy to add additional audio to your creations without leaving the app, while a zoom/crop tool helps put the emphasis on your subjects.

No update would be complete without improvements as well, and Lumify Movie Studio 3.0 has 'em. Users are no longer required to add music to a movie, perfect for preserving memories exactly as they were shot. The app now includes an all-new movie preview interface as well as a faster engine for making edits quicker than ever.

Individual video clips can finally be added as many times as you'd like, each with its own configuration, length and playback speed. When you're done with a project, AirPlay Mirroring lets everyone enjoy it on the big screen with an Apple TV.

Lumify Movie Studio 3.0 is now available on the App Store and it's free for a limited time; the app is optimized for the iPhone 5 and requires iOS 5.0 or later.
