Review: The Find 5 is a decent 5” Android smartphone that puts China’s Oppo on the international map

5-inch 1080p Android smartphones are all the rage right now, with HTC, ZTE, Sharp, and Lenovo all jumping into the pool. Chinese Blu-ray player maker Oppo wants a piece of the 5-inch-diameter pie too, and is planning a full-scale international launch for its Find 5 handset. There’s a lot to like about the Find 5. It’s one of the most well-built phones we’ve seen come out of China, but it’s also got a few quirks that prevent it from competing on the same level as the larger international smartphone brands. Priced at $480 (RMB 2,998) in China, the Find 5 is on the high-end for a homegrown smartphone. Rival Meizu, for example, prices its flagship MX2 at $400 (RMB 2,499), and Xiaomi’s Mi2 costs $321 (RMB 1,999). Still, Oppo justifies the higher price by packing in some top-of-the-line specs and a couple unique camera tricks. It has a resolution 1,920 x 1,080 and a pixel density of 441 pixels per inch.
