Google today has released a new version of its YouTube Capture app. Users can now download the app and use it on their iPad and iPad mini device to not only record, but edit and share videos with just a few clicks. The company says that it brings in existing features from its YouTube Editor and Enhancements into the new app — a “growing array” of free tools it says will help creators quickly make better videos. With this version, the company says that users can add auto color correction, auto stabilization trimming, and music. Videos created can then be pushed directly to YouTube either as a private video or can be posted to Google+, Facebook, and Twitter simultaneously. Bringing this app to more mobile devices seems to be the logical thing — YouTube says that it sees 25 percent of all views from mobile, and with more people photographing and recording right from their handheld devices, bringing YouTube Capture to more iOS devices increases the odds of people producing more quality videos. The move by YouTube to further distribute its Capture app could also be an indication that it is seeking to claim more of the market share than just simply leaving it to services like Socialcam, Viddy, and Cinemagram. And based on a recent study by Onavo Insights, Twitter’s Vine app has seen more monthly active users in the last month, while other popular video-sharing apps have declined.
